The Ribbon Has Been Cut!

Today at 1:30, NMWA friends and guests attended the Dedication Ceremony for the New York Avenue Sculpture Project. Speakers and honorable guests included Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, District of Columbia Councilmember Jack Evans, US Congresswoman for the District of Columbia Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Niki de Saint Phalle’s granddaughter Bloum Cardenas.

  1. Congratulations on a fabulous afternoon! The sculptures along New York Avenue look wonderful, the remarks were compelling, and the brass band was charming. Do it again?!

  2. I’ve admired Niki’s FUN artwork since the 60’s! One of my favorite places in the whole world is the Stravinsky Fountain in Paris that she created along with Tinguely. It makes people smile and it’s so playful! How great that she’s now represented here!

    rich in it’s colors, designs, and size is a sure attribute to our
    country. Many thanks to all it’s supporters.
